wATER POLLTUION WITH ANIMALS
All animals drink water. Depending on were they live determines how much water they can get. And also determines how healthy the water is. Pollution in the water affect animals in many ways. Some animals can become mutated by polluted water. If the water is next to a nuclear power plant the water will be contaminated with radiation. Look at the fish to the left. This animal was born in the water next to the plant. As it grew, the radiation in the water mutated it. It now has two mouths on its head. Now there are more types of pollution than just radiation. Turtles have been known to get caught in plastic bands as babies, and grow up being diformed. Dolphins mistake platic bags as fish, they try to eat it. They will then choke on the bag and die. Other places the water is so polluted that the fish that live in the water can't even breath and then suffocate.
Water pollution with plants
Plants also need water. And also like the fish in the picture above, this flower [left] is mutated from radiation water. Water pollution doesn't only hurt animals, it also hurts plants. Plants that drink polluted water are in for certain death. Plants use an ability called photosynthesis. This is when plants turn sunlight into sugars and use it as energy. If a plant drinks to much polluted water, it disables the photosynthesis and the plant starves to death. Also, if a plants drinks polluted water it reduces the spores the plant creates for reproduction. If an animal eats a pollution infected plant, that animal will get sick.
